Moving house tips & advice: Moving check list

	Confirm the date for your removal.
	Obtain removal quotes from at least 4 moving companies.
	Notify all relevant utility companies of your move.
	Time to de clutter – make a decision on which items can be thrown away, sold or given to charity.
	*Inform your doctor, dentist and/or optician if your move is going out of the area.*
	Inform the bank of your move and make any changes to direct debits or standing orders.
	Contact the post office and have your mail forwarded.
	Children and/or pets – try to arrange for a family member or friend to take care of them on your removal day.
	Be sure to contact everyone who should know about your move i.e. friends and family members.
	Finalise arrangements with your removal company. Confirm dates and arrival times contact numbers and destination address with your movers.
	Before vacating your property be sure to check all windows & doors are locked shut!
	Make sure to turn off your gas & electricity and note down your meter readings.
