If you thought the 7 year itch applied only to relationships then think again! Having lived in the same house for 7 years many people then decide it’s time to move on, with the average American moving house every 5-7 years.
For some people, a house move is as good a change as any and once yearly rental contracts are up many will take it as an opportunity to try new pastures. If there is some degree of flexibility on your location for purposes of work or school then moving house may seem like a good idea to see new areas, live in a new area and so on. In the current economic climate many people renting will also see a house move as an opportunity to seek out other desperate landlords eager to rent out their properties for under market value. Of course this may not always be so easy to find and may be a misguided thought but it’s fair to say that the rental market is currently very healthy indeed. These days we’re finding that as more and more people decide to wait to get on to the property ladder or are finding it difficult to get a mortgage agreed to think about getting on to the property ladder and so “house hopping” in the rental market is the simplest option!
